How to load a template in Snappic

To load a template in Snappic, open your event's Photo Templates, create a new template, choose the frame size in the Template Layout Creator, upload a transparent PNG overlay that matches the background's resolution, and save.

What you need

  • A transparent PNG overlay, and a background at the same resolution and aspect ratio. Snappic's help says both must match.
  • Snappic's own example is a 4x6 template of 1200 x 1800 pixels. See the size table for the other sizes.

The steps

  1. Open Photo Templates. In the Snappic dashboard, select your event and open Photo Templates.
  2. Create a template. Click Create New Template. In the Template Layout Creator, choose the frame size.
  3. Upload the overlay. Choose Upload Overlay and pick the transparent PNG. The overlay and the background must have the same resolution and aspect ratio.
  4. Save. Select Single Overlay for the design and click Save Changes.
  5. Check the live preview. Optionally tick Show Overlay Preview on the template. It lets guests see the overlay on screen while they position themselves. The saved photo shows the full design either way.

Orientation: portrait or landscape

Snappic's template example is portrait, 1200 x 1800. Kept Sets magazine covers are that size, and the strips are 600 x 1800. Our 4x6 print is landscape, 1800 x 1200, so check which orientation your event uses in the Template Layout Creator before you upload.

The welcome screen: master overlay

The attract screen takes a separate file. On the event's App Experiences tab, click Upload Master Overlay and choose a PNG with a transparent background. Snappic's help gives a maximum of 5 MB and a minimum of 1080 x 1920 pixels for portrait, and a pop-up offers portrait or landscape templates to design on.

File size limits

The master overlay can be up to 5 MB. Template preview images, which guests see when choosing a look and are set on the Presets tab, must be JPEG and no larger than 2 MB.
